Motorola Droid phones has been hit by a bug

Bangalore: Motorola Droid phones has been hit by a bug which deletes all contained messages if users try to setup their account again. Corporate e-mail accounts are mainly affected, though calendars and contacts remain on the phone, according to electronista.

Droid owners are reporting their multiple Exchange and POP accounts are disappearing inexplicably, and they are forced to re-enter them. Users have tried to troubleshoot the issue themselves by deleting certain apps they think may be causing the issue, but have not found a fix themselves yet, and are urging Verizon to find a resolution for the problem.

Once e-mail accounts are re-entered, they continue to work for a week or two at a time before being wiped clean again. Verizon has not acknowledged the problem yet or offered any fixes for it, but is expected to do so soon.
