Fifa Opening Ceremony 2010

The grand opening for the 2010 FIFA World Cup will kick off on the 10th June, 2010 in South Africa. The World Cup 2010 Celebration Concert will take place at the Orlando Stadium in Johannesburg, South Africa. The concert will be a three hour extravaganza consisting of 1500 performers, artists and icons from around the world.

The 2010 FIFA World Cup will officially commence at 8pm local time (GMT +2). That’s 7pm in London, 2pm in New York and 3am in Tokyo.

The venue for the opening ceremony will take place in the large city, Johannesburg. The ceremony will be viewed and attended by millions of soccer enthusiasts.

The Columbian hip-shaking star, Shakira is set to perform the official World Cup song. The opening song is “Waka Waka”, also known as “This Time for Africa”. The song was co-written and will be performed by Shakira. Accompanying Shakira will be South African band, Freshly Ground. The song is expected to captivate audiences around the world with its vivacity and catchy tune.

Performers also expected to make an appearance are Alicia Keys, Black Eyed Peas, Hugh Masakela, John Legend, Soweto Gospel Choir and Angelique Kidjo. There is no doubt that millions of people will be waiting in anticipation.
