Anantapur: Department of Telecom (DOT) advises mobile operators in India to move with 11 digit mobile phone numbers. As, day to day mobile subscribers are growing rapidly in india. Because of this its not possible to issue more new mobile number with 10 digit series.

It is possible to issue upto 100 crore mobile phone numbers with 10 digit mobile number series. For this reason "DOT" advises a "11 digit mobile number series". If, 11 digit mobile phone numbers come's live, mobile operators can issue upto 1000 crore mobile numbers.

But, some mobile operators not yet ready to implement the new "11 digit mobile number series" because of some technical problems. Mobile operators are saying that if we implement this series immediately lots of technical problems may arise. So, mobile operators asked for 1 more year time to implement "11 digit mobile number series".

Whatever it may be, very soon "11 digit mobile phone numbers" are coming live. If, this series come live, everyone should have to add "9" before existing mobile number. ex: if existing mobile number is 9390230544, we have to add "9" as specified here: 99390230544

RED: Newly added number (1 digit)
GREEN: Existing Mobile number (10 digits)
TOTAL: 11 digits (11 digit mobile number series)
