Billings Tornado - Eye Spark News of billings tornado

The tornado struck Billings at about 5 p.m. this Sunday with a big storm system accompanied with a golf ball-sized hail as it passed through Billings according to Trooper Tomas Baukema of the Montana Highway Patrol. He also stated that the tornado floated over the Rimrock Auto Arena, the 10, 000-seat venue, for about 15 minutes but no injuries have been reported.

The tornado also picked up a roof from an auto glass shop and dumped it into a nearby creek, leaving the shop with only walls.

The tornado was caused by a severe thunderstorm. At this point, no injuries have been reported although the tornado moved in rapidly with very little precaution. The North Western Energy already reported that there will be a widespread power outrage in Billings and Lockwood because of the tornado. Meanwhile, Spokeswoman Claudia Rapkoch warns people to avoid downed lines and poles and stated that everyone had been called for restoration.
