HCL to hire 5K freshers this year

New Delhi: HCL Technologies software services firm plans to hire 5,000 freshers on a net basis in 2010. At a news conference to discuss the company's results for the quarter ended March, the software firm reported a 73 percent rise in quarterly standalone net profit.

"We will certainly look at our compensation structure to make it competitive, we will go for wage hike as industry is bouncing back and deals are back on track," said Anil Chanana,CFO, HCL Technologies. The company said that it will go for a wage hike in July this year, the beginning of its fiscal year. But Infosys has already announced 14 per cent wage hike.
