Valentine's Day News, Valentine's Day Updates

MANILA, Philippines – Some of the star-studded cast of the romantic comedy movie “Valentine’s Day” shared with ABS-CBN's Balitang America their plans for the special day.

Balitang America’s entertainment reporter, Manny "The Movie Guy", was able to interview Jessica Alba, Jennifer Garner, Anne Hathaway, Topher Grace, Shirley Maclaine and George Lopez.

"Perfect Valentines Day? It’s being with people that I love,” said Garner.

For Alba, she prefers to celebrate Valentine's Day by “spending some time with my husband."

The movie also stars Julia Roberts, Patrick Dempsey, Kathy Bates, Jessica Biel, Bradley Cooper, Eric Dance, Hector Elizondo, Jamie Foxx, Ashton Kutcher, Queen Latifah, Taylor Lautner, Emma Roberts, and Taylor Swift.

All about love

The film follows the intertwining storylines of a diverse group of Los Angelenos as they navigate their way through romance and heartbreak over the course of one Valentine's Day.

Manny said some of the film’s characters fall in love, while others fall out of love. He added that although the movie could not devote enough time for each character to grow, it will surely make one laugh and even cry.

In his interview with the cast, Alba gave Manny “The Movie Guy” love lessons.

“Sometimes you are in relationships with someone who is completely opposite. But it’s nice to have some things in common,” Alba said.

He described Garner as “super sweet”. “It [the movie] does make you happy, doesn't it? That's why it’s such a good date movie,” Garner said.

For him, Hathaway and Grace were also funny.

Veteran filmmaker, Director Garry Marshall, the guy who made Julia Roberts a hit in the movie Pretty Woman, talked about how to balance romance and comedy.

"But mostly when there's emotion, I hear the audience’s silence, that's when we have to be quiet and let love sweep over you,” Marshall said.

Overall, the movie will make moviegoers feel good after watching the film. Balitang America
