Tharoor for Indo-Pakistan cricket matches in US

KOLKATA: Minister of State for External Affairs Shashi Tharoor favours an India-Pakistan cricket series in a venue like the US.

Tharoor said at a function here on Saturday that the US had a large expatriate population from India and Pakistan who would lap up the cricket clash.

"We have a large patriotic population of both Indians and Pakistanis in the US besides a handful of local cricket enthusiasts. That's a very, very good way to organise cricket in third countries when terror strikes have stopped cricket between the two countries," he said.

Tharoor said it would be great to see a baseball stadium in the US crowded for a cricket match, however small the venue may be.
