MS DOS (Brief summary & Basics)

MS DOS IS A DISK OPERATING SYSTEM .IT WAS DEVELOPED BY MICROSOFT COMPANY. IT HAS C.U.I FEATURES . C.U.I MEANS CHARACTER USER INTERFACE. IT IS A SINGLE USER SINGLE TASK OPERATING SYSTEM.

DOS BASED SOFT WARES:- C,C++,JAVA,BASIC,FOTRAN, COBOL,PASCAL TALLY,TT,DBASE,WORDSTAR,LOTUS123, ETC.

ENTERING :-
1.START-SHUT DOWN-RESTART IN MSDOS MODE-OK-TYPE CD\ ENTER
THEN U WILL C-PROMPT (C:\>)
2. START-RUN-TYPE COMMAND –OK-TYPE CD\ENTER. THEN U WILL C-PROMPT (C:\>)
3.START-PROGRAMS-MSDOS PROMPT- TYPE CD\ENTER. THEN U WILL C-PROMPT (C:\>)

FROM MS DOS TO WINDOWS

USED TO CHANGE THE VOLUME LABEL OF C-DRIVE.

DOSKEY COMMAND:-

THIS COMMAND IS USED TO STORE THE COMMANDS IN BUFFER AREA. AND THOSE COMMANDS CAN BE RETRIVED BY USING UP ARROW OR DOWN ARROW.

CREATING BATCH FILES:
